INSTALLCORP – 2020 in Review

In 2020 many businesses were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and Installcorp was no exception. However, they remained vigilant and committed to their values, best practices and most importantly, to their clients. Key services include Installation Management, Scheduling, Budget Analysis, Enhanced Communication, and Quality Support. Customizing installations is fundamental to Installcorp and the reason behind their success in design/builds and industrial installations.

Industrial Flowmeter Installation

Each project and installation provides new challenges and opportunities. This industrial installation required the application of different practices and techniques to reduce inefficiencies and costs. After meeting with this Mississauga client Installcorp investigated their water usage issues and concerns. Installcorp was able to provide them with a complete installation plan which involved adding a set of flowmeters to their wastewater line. By accurately measuring water intake and reporting to the city their wastewater levels they were entitled to a significant rebate on their water bill. This project required technical knowledge and analysis to determine the best design. Flowmeter sizing, quantity and installation were critical to the overall success. This project was completed on time and on budget.

Backflow Preventer Project

Installcorp’s knowledge and understanding of various codes and regulations proved to be invaluable in a project involving the inspection and testing of several backflow preventers. Backflow preventers are required by the Ontario Building Code and requirements for installation and annual testing is fully regulated due to the importance for the health and safety of our drinking water.  Not only are they required on all water supply lines, to ensure no contaminants enter the main water supply, but they also need to be tested regularly by a certified professional. For this project, Installcorp prepared engineered drawings, tested over 20 backflow preventers, completed repairs and retests, submitted test reports and registration documentation in compliance with regulations to the municipality. This project was completed in phases due to the large number of backflow preventers and our client’s operational shutdown schedule. All deadlines were met, and scope of work was completed under budget by effectively coordinating and monitoring services.

Electrical Distribution System Upgrade – Phase II

Installcorp has the expertise and the know how to manage your installation project, in all aspects, from start to finish. We recently assisted with an electrical distribution system upgrade where our services ranged from preparing a detailed installation plan, tracking costs, scheduling, inspections and maintaining documentation. This project required constant communication among all parties involved to ensure deadlines were met and costs were controlled. Installation support was customized to ensure the new electrical switchgear could be brought online with minimal disruptions to normal plant operations. An Installcorp site supervisor was brought in to support key installations and closely monitor work progress. This is a good example of how Installcorp tailors their services to fit the needs of the client.
